CAREERS IN HEALTH SCIENCES
Make your mark in the fast growing healthcare field.
The healthcare industry, including life sciences and biotechnology, is one of the fastest growing industries in Texas.
We’re home to some of the largest hospitals and health systems in the country. With three of the nation’s largest cities – Houston, San Antonio and Dallas/Fort Worth – Texas boasts major healthcare systems like Baptist Health Systems, Baylor Scott & White Health, Christus Health, Cook Children’s, HCA, Memorial Hermann Health System and Texas Health Resources to name a few.
Many of our medical centers (more than a quarter) are located in rural areas. Across the state, there are more than 630 hospitals, not to mention elder care facilities, freestanding ERs, imaging centers, physician offices, specialty clinics, surgical centers and urgent care facilities.
As our population continues to grow, demand for health care workers is expected to continue to increase, especially to meet the care needs of both young and old.
